2011 JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM
Dear Parents of Junior Golfers:
It is that time of year again to be thinking about golf programs for your children. We are very excited at Wisconsin River to offer an extensive Junior Golf Program. We will be offering three choices this year. The first summer program is the golf instruction and league on Fridays, and the second program is the instructional program on Wednesdays. The third is our new elite training program on Monday mornings. The programs are very popular so enter early.
The Friday program will be run as it has been in the past combining skills improvement as well as working on playing strategies, etiquette, and golf course management. Students get a well rounded knowledge of the game.
The Wednesday program will offer mainly instruction with a tournament and pizza party at the end. Wednesday will differ from the Friday program as the format is designed to work on each individuals skills and less on playing and on course strategies. We highly recommend juniors that are beginners or others looking to expand their golf knowledge to attend. Our focus will be on building sound fundamentals and great golf swings.
This year we have added an Elite Training program that will take place on Monday mornings. This program is for the advanced junior looking to improve and play competitive golf. The program will only be available to the first 24 Juniors. Details are on the entry form.
Our staff includes two PGA Professionals, Bill Stupar and Mike Wolbers. Both have been in the business for over 20 years and have worked with many students and junior programs. It is our goal to produce golfers who will enjoy the game and identify those students who want to play competitively and get them ready for that path. We are determined to make Stevens Point Juniors some of the best in the state.
To help us in setting up the programs, please return forms by April 1st, 2011. Students that were in the program last year will have priority if their form is received by this date. Forms will be accepted after this date on a first come first serve basis. Please review the enclosed fliers for details on the Junior Golf options. Keep in mind that students can sign up for any or all programs.
